MARYLANDThe Maryland Senate is scheduled to vote on Monday night on whether to decriminalize being caught with small amounts of marijuana.

Under the Senate bill, people caught with up to ten grams of marijuana wouldn't face jail time and face a $100 fine in civil court.

The current law puts people behind bars up to 90 days and face a $500 fine.

The bill was approved by the Senate's Judicial Proceedings Committee and passed a second reading in the Senate last week.

If the bill passes the third reading it'll go to the House of Delegates.
