The Annual Waynesboro Hospital Health Fair is in Tip-Top Shape

WAYNESBORO, PA - Hundreds of locals combed through the booths and free screenings at the Annual Waynesboro Hospital Health Fair.
"You just sit there and put your foot on the machine, and it's very simple," explains Victoria Doyle, a Waynesboro resident.
Victoria Doyle just had a free bone density screening, checking for any early signs of Osteoporosis.
"To have these tests done, especially if you have no insurance, would be very expensive. So I think it's great that they offer this," says Doyle.
Waynesboro Hospital says it's their priority to educate and test their community.
"We provide the results to the patients. So the patients have a copy of the results themselves, then they can take it to their physician, and then have that personal conversation with their own physician," says Melissa Dubrow, chief operating officer with Waynesboro Hospital.
New to the fair this year is a DUI driving simulation, and it's not as easy as it looks! Each time the simulator adds a drink to the driving, there's a time delay in the wheel to mimic impaired driving.
"As your impairment goes up, they have to concentrate so much on keeping that car in between the lanes, they're not thinking anything about their speed, they're not looking in their mirrors, if anybody's beside them," says Mike Martin, event coordinator with the DUI Association.
The DUI Association says most people step on the gas the more they're impaired.
From free lab work and surgery demonstrations to the bounce house, people of all ages say this health fair was in tip-top shape.
