MYERSVILLE, MD- Frederick County officials say the fire that took the lives of two little girls in January has been ruled accidental.

The Lillard family lost 6-year-old Sophie and three-year-old Madigan in a fire at their Myersville home on January 31, 2013.

Fire officials say the blaze started near a baseboard heater in the living room on the first floor. They say the heater was behind a couch touching curtains, and that's when the curtains caught on fire and the flames quickly spread to the furniture.

Officials say smoke alarms inside the home were not working at the time.

They say the fire quickly spread throughout the house due to strong wind conditions.
