FREDERICK COUNTY, MD- Police have made an arrest in the murder of a Frederick man.

Michael Stahlnecker of Crofton, Md., was taken into custody Tuesday morning at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York.

He's accused of murdering John Ryan whose body was found last December in his car trunk in a parking lot in Montgomery County.

Police began looking for Ryan after his wife reported him missing a few days earlier.

State Police say Ryan and Stahlnecker had been involved in importing and distributing marijuana.

Stahlnecker had scheduled a meeting with Ryan at a warehouse he was leasing in Laurel.

During that meeting, he shot Ryan and drove his body to the parking lot in Derwood.

A motive has not been determined, but investigators say Stahlnecker owed large amounts of money to several people.

He's facing numerous charges including first and second-degree murder.

Stahlnecker is awaiting extradition back to Maryland.
