WHAG- Every Wednesday, WHAG and Solider Fit honor a service member or veteran in our community. This week's Hometown Hero is George Kidwiler.

George spent almost 30 years in the Air Force serving in Vietnam for two tours and 27 other countries.

He retired in 1990 and went to college and earned his masters in social work. He served on the board of directors at the Eastern Panhandle Free Clinic as well as volunteering his services as a therapist.

George's wife says she loves him and the freedom we enjoy because of many like him.

And don't forget, you can help honor our nation's heroes by clicking on "Community" and then "Hometown Hero" to send you submission!
