FLINTSTONE, MD - Work is underway on the new Rocky Gap Casino in Allegany County, and the resort has just announced a new jackpot. They're now hiring for 250 new jobs.

Maryland voters who passed table games in November's election led to new jobs at Rocky Gap, which is ready to hire 100 new dealers to handle table games in the casino.

New hires don't need previous experience and will take part in a 12-week dealer school before the casino opens in June.

That's just part of 250 new jobs in total, with more to come.

"There's going to be many different pieces, this is definitely going to be a nice resort for family members and the park, all the amenities with the lake and all, and the casino is just one more piece of the puzzle," says Allegany County Commissioner Bill Valentine.

The resort's general manager is hoping next winter looks much different.

"It's a quieter time, and we're hoping to change the look of the place by adding the casino and having nightlife during the winter," says GM Scott Just.

A new conference center is also in the works behind the main building.

Rocky Gap will hold a job fair on January 23rd.

The resort is also hiring for positions in accounting, security, food prep and human resources.
Rocky Gap job fairs will also be held at Frostburg State University and Allegany College in early March.
