WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY in effect until midnight for the counties shaded in purple.
FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY for Garrett County until midnight for a glaze of ice.

CHRISTMAS EVE: Skies will be mostly cloudy as a weak low pressure moves overhead. A light wintry mix of snow, sleet, rain and even freezing rain in Western Maryland is likely. A light accumulation of slushy snow is possible in some spots with up to an inch or two in the higher elevations. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30s.
TONIGHT: The low pressure moves to the east and the light mix ends by midnight. There may be some slick spots on the roads with temperatures just below freezing. Low: 28-33.
CHRISTMAS: Partly cloudy and not too chilly with a high of 44.
WEDNESDAY: A complex low pressure system moves up the eastern seaboard bringing a wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet, rain. The areas that may see some significant icing is in Western Maryland from Cumberland points west. Also, the Potomac Highlands could see significant ice. The track of the low pressure is still a bit uncertain so stay tuned. Precipitation totals will range from an inch to 1.5". Temperatures will be critical in determining the precipitation type. Highs will be in the low to mid 30s.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy and windy as the low pressure exits. Some flurries are possible with some accumulating snow in Garrett County. Cold with thighs in the upper 30s.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny with high pressure in charge for one day. Highs will be in the upper 30s.
SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy with a possibility of a mix of rain or snow with a coastal storm. Highs in the mid 30s.
SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy and gusty. High: Mid 30s.
