EGLON, WV - Garrett County Sheriff's Deputies arrested an Eglon man Monday in connection with a theft and burglary investigation conducted by Sheriff's detectives.

Deputies say Brain Lee Moats, 29, allegedly stole heavy copper wire that was stored in a warehouse owned by GMS Mine Repair and Maintenance near Oakland, Maryland.

Deputies say the investigation revealed Moats sold the copper wire to salvage yards in Elk Gardens, West Virginia and in Westernport, Maryland.

Moats is being charged with second-degree burglary, theft more than $10,000, and destruction of property over $500.

Moats was released from Garrett County Jail after posting $5,000 bond.
