Protecting the Public During the Holidays

They're the ones ensuring our safety, so we can enjoy the holiday. Some of them say they would rather spend Thanksgiving with their family.
However, as officers of the law they understand police presence is needed, especially during the holidays. They say it's worth it when the public appreciates your sacrifice.
"A lot of guys don't mind, because they understand that it's part of their responsibilities," says Lieutenant PJ Kifer, Hagerstown City Police. "But it is a strain on their families, something like that takes a special family to get use to."
Luckily, Hagerstown City Police Thursday did not encounter any major incidents nor emergencies.
