FREDERICK, MD - Turning from the private eye to the public eye, Republican candidate Dan Bongino is hoping to make a difference in people's lives as a senator for Maryland.

"I'm the only candidate in this race making an iron-clad promise to not raise your taxes. Any growth will come from the private sector," says Bongino.

Bongino defeated a hefty list of other republican challengers.  He says his experience in law enforcement gives him a unique perspective.

"I spent twelve years in the secret service, five of those years in the White House, and two in the administration," says Bongino. "Frankly it bothered me. There is a group of insiders that view you as a game that you're not aloud to play. Well I wasn't willing to put up with it anymore."

During Bongino's visit to Frederick, he was greeted by many community supporters including delegates and other officials.

"He's a family man, been in law enforecement, and the secret service," says Blaine Young, president of the Frederick County Board of Commissioners. "He understands the private sector. He understands the constitution. We desperately need him in the U.S. Senate."
