GARRETT COUNTY, MD- About 80% of the residents in Garrett County are still without power due to this week's major snowstorm. However, Governor Martin O'Malley says help is on the way.
On Thursday, he came to the area to assess the aftermath.  O'Malley praised emergency services personnel for their extra effort and he talked to residents about their needs after the storm.  It was clear the biggest priority was restoring power.

"We are prioritizing the road blockages and we have a lot of crews converged here," O'Malley said. "State Highway Administration has been out here with plows and trucks clearing the roads."
