WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD- The Presidential Primary election in Maryland is less than month away, but the deadline for voter registration is next week.

Board of Election officials say the last day to register is Tuesday and reminding residents time is running out.   Along with the President, Maryland voters will have the opportunity to pick Congressional candidates as well as other local races in the party they're affiliated with.  Officials say when registering, you can change your party affiliation.

"That is the opportunity that the voters have, to select a candidate that you would like to have on the ballot in the general election.   If your candidate does not make it through the primary then you will not have the opportunity to vote for them,"says Kaye E. Robucci, Washington County Board of Elections Director
