Man Hit by Passing Vehicle on Dual Highway

HAGERSTOWN, MD- Maryland State Police say a man was struck by a car Monday night after trying to cross the highway. 

It happened at 7:00 p.m. on 1427 Dual Highway by Dunkin Donuts. 

Police say a 60-year old man had tried to cross the road and got clipped by a passing vehicle. 

Units responded to the scene and the man was taken to Meritus Hospital for trauma injuries. 

We'll let you know what happened as more information becomes available.

I have witnessed some really close calls myself. Poorly lite roads, people wearing dark clothing and drivers that ignore all safe driving practices. It is a miracle that more people have not been killed.
