FRANKLIN COUNTY, PA - The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter is closed temporarily for their big move to their new location off of Letterkenny West Road.
"There are a lot of memories in this building, and a lot of success stories and a lot of animals that went through here and found happy homes so there's a lot of history," says Jennifer Vanderau of the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter.

Vanderau has worked at the shelter for 11 years and its been bittersweet cleaning up.

The journey to the shelter's new location off of Letterkenny West Road. Its been in the process for five years by using the money that they had from fundraising to loans to make this energy efficient building.

The new shelter has skylights to reduce the amount of electricity and uses rainwater for cleaning and they say there's still more to come.

"Even though change can be rough the support that I have seen the last 11 years make this shelter something that will test the stand of time," says Vanderau.

CVAS will have a Puppy Love Pasta Dinner on February 1st. For more information click here.
