By: Import User
Updated: February 6, 2007
The owner said the boy who did this was a friend of the family at first and he doesnt know what prompted him to do such a thing. Jake Keller, 10, used to care for 13 cats until one night when he said his 10-year-old friend came over and killed two of them. "Theres a big rock down at the creek and he grabbed it by its body and smashed its head on the rock," said Keller. "He kicked it and then he took it up to the barn and broke its neck and shoved it underneath one part of the barn," said Keller. Keller said the boy also tried to disfigure their kitten Whiskers, but luckily it survived. "It was all bloody," said Keller. Keller and his brother asked the boy, who they thought was their friend, why he committed this crime. "He really didnt care; he just like said well ‘I did it and I really dont care," said Keller "Hes a cat killer," said Keller. The boys buried the two kittens near their home. While SpongeBob and Cuddles are gone, the Keller boys are holding on to hope that no one else will have to go through what they have. "I hope he doesnt come back and hes never at a house where he can kill other peoples cats and feel the same pain as me," said Keller. The 10-year-old boy will be facing two counts of animal cruelty and one count of terroristic threats. Hes accused of threatening to kill Keller. The boy will be tried in juvenile court. A date has not been set. Reported by Sinu Abraham" Maryland Prison Chief Steps Down,1156422006,1156422006,"NBC25 - In an unexpected move, the chief of Maryland prisons is stepping down.
