The chase started at the Country Hills Apartments on Thursday afternoon where Frederick Police spotted 19-year-old Dewayne Dawkins slouched down in the back seat of a car. After police stopped the car, police said Dawkins jumped from the car and began running.
Police said Dawkins was combative when K-9 units caught him. Dawkins was later taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital for treatment of a dog bite.
Besides being charged with resisting arrest, police are charging Dawkins with attempted second degree murder and attempted murder in connection with a shooting in Frederick two weeks ago.
