Ambassador Princess Ogbon-Day said Nigerias biggest resource is their biggest issue. "Nigeria as you may well know is the number six oil producing nation in the world and one of the main suppliers of oil to the U.S. Can you believe with such national wealth Nigeria is the second poorest nation on the face of the earth?" said Ambassador Princess Ogbon-Day. Ogbon-Day said the Nigerians feel their own pain at the pump. "They are sick of the corruption, of the politicians conniving with the multinational oil corporations, and stealing their oil wealth away without necessarily providing for them," said Ogbon-Day. The first female ambassador in Nigeria, Ogbon-Day fled the countries militant dictatorship years ago. She now travels from Smithsburg, Maryland to Nigeria monthly. "The young men and women of Nigeria are tired of this and they keep inviting me. They say we need a change! We know you can not be bribed, we know you believe in the liberation," said Ogbon-Day. Ogbon-Day said shes fighting for Nigerians who in turn are fighting for electricity, drinking water and health care. "Most of the young men and women of Nigeria are unemployed. They live on less than a dollar a day," said Ogbon-Day. "They still live at home with their parents, theyve never been married, they cant even date. How can you date if you cant even eat?" said Ogbon-Day. From using not abusing oil resources, to making lifes basic necessities available to her people, her objective may be attainable but not before she makes history. "If the masses are allowed to go to the polls, if the women, the young people will go to the polls, yes it will be easy for a woman, especially me being the only one in this race to win this presidency," said Ogbon-Day.
