New Regulations on Mine Operators in West Virginia

West Virginia officials want the make and model of every air pack used at underground mines by August 15th.
Mines are also being asked to submit inspection dates and their results. State officials said the request is the first step toward state inspection, testing, and certification of mine air packs.
The state has an estimated 10,000 emergency air packs in use at about 135 underground coal mines.
