He said rumors are circulating that senior citizens who receive any type of monetary gift will be in-eligible for Medicaid now that a new law has been signed.
Bartlett said he wants to assure all senior citizens that the rules of the new Deficit Reduction Act will be applied fairly.
"This is a program that was intended to help those who genuinely need it, not as a program that everybody would somehow migrate to as a general government sponsored long-term care plan," said Rep. Roscoe Bartlett, (R) MD 6th District.
Senior citizens who want to know how they can get Medicaid assistance are urged to contact Representative Bartletts office.
