BERKELEY COUNTY

The Frederick County Sheriffs Office said the shooting happened after a dispute between the victim, his wife, and daughter, but neighbors said it was the victims daughter who pulled the trigger. Deputies said the shooting happened just after 11 a.m. on Sunday morning on Hoovers Mill Road in Thurmont. Investigators found 57-year-old Michael Lawson shot in the stomach. Neighbors said although they didnt hear the gunshots, they were told Lawsons daughter, Angi, was the one who shot him. Neighbors also say Lawson is a hunter and keeps a lot of guns inside his home, but the family never seemed to be violent. "Im shocked, just totally shocked; dont understand it; doesnt seem like it even happened with that family. I mean I know some people around that I can expect that from but not, never in my wildest dreams would I think something like that would happen," said William Malone, neighbor. Officials havent made any arrest and theyre not saying if the daughter actually shot Lawson, but the investigation is ongoing.
