A Baltimore man has been arrested while troopers piece together what caused it all.
Jimmie Lee Johnson, 35, was driving an SUV on I-70 Eastbound near Interstate 81 around two oclock.
Police said he began yelling at a 19-year-old driver. Johnson told police the 19-year-old had him boxed in on the interstate and wouldnt let him pass.
Johnson then fired three shots into the victims car. The driver was not hit by any of the bullets. Johnson confessed to the incident.
"He was remorseful about the incident. He had some time to sit and think about what had happened and realized that he was in the wrong, and has been very cooperative in this," said TFC Scott Bare, from Maryland State Police in Hagerstown.
Investigators said Johnson was in tears and wrote a letter of apology to the victim.
No injuries were reported and the victim has gone home to Montgomery County.
Johnson faces numerous charges including assault with a handgun and reckless endangerment.
