Webb won the ticket in Tuesdays democratic primary. Webb is actually a former republican and military aide to President Reagan. He said he left the Republican Party after disagreeing with the war in Iraq. Webb beat fellow democrat Harris Miller with 53 percent of the vote. Webb endorsed Sen. Allen six years ago. Only a little more than one percent of registered voters cast their ballots in Tuesdays primary.
