FREDERICK, MD- Saint John Regional Catholic School was awarded $2,000 on Friday to improve the school's Stem Program.

This comes after their students took a tour of Bechtel to see what the world of engineering looks like on the inside. After that, they have the option to enter an essay contest describing their experience.

Three Saint John students were chosen as the winners.

"The more we can get students excited about stem subjects, then the stronger businesses will be and the more that they can make an impact in the communities. So we're really happy to be involved with that," says Sonia Taylor, Bechtel Communications Manager.

The school has yet to determine specifically how the money will be used, but it must go towards science, technology, engineering and math.
