HAGERSTOWN, MD - The Washington County School Board continues their hunt for a new central office.

Next Tuesday, board members and officials will discuss the possibility of building on the former Allegheny Energy headquarters site at 11:15 in the morning. The board put in a purchase agreement for the property on Downsville Pike.

The School Board President, Justin Hartings, says he's interested to see how much it'll cost to build their offices on the site.

"We need to make a decision to either abandon the contract and say we're not going to buy the property, to say we need 30 more days if we're going to do this which is part of the contract or to just say on April 2nd we're going to buy the property and we're going to move forward."

The School Board says they'll be voting on whether or not they want the Allegheny Electric property during their April 2nd meeting.

They also approved to hire a company to design the new elementary school at their meeting. From a pool of 13 companies Bushey Feight Morin Architects Inc. has been chosen to design West City Elementary School.
