WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD - With prom season right around the corner for most of the high schools in the area, one school is helping students dress for the occasion at an affordable cost, all while benefiting a good cause.

A second chance Cinderella's Closet was held on Saturday at Washington County Technical High School.  Students and parents were able to purchase that special dress of tuxedo for the upcoming school dance or prom, at a very affordable price.

Organizers say their original Cinderella's Closet didn't have much traffic, so they decided to open their doors on a weekend for round two.  Doors for the second chance Cinderella's closet were supposed to open at 9:00 a.m., but they ended up opening early due to the line that was waiting to get inside.

Marjorie Kellman, Washington County Technical High School Teacher and Skills USA Adviser says, "We decided to do a second chance and open on Saturday for three hours.  What we did was price everything lower, so originally everything last week was priced at fifty dollars highest, now it's thirty dollars that's the high price, and that's for brand new dresses."

Proceeds from the Cinderella's Closet will go towards the Washington County Humane Society, and organizers are hoping to break last year's donation of over $1700.00.
