It happened at 6:19 a.m. on Leitersburg Pike in Hagerstown.
Deputies say Rayseen Carter, of Waynesboro, Pa., drove off the road, then through two backyards on Primrose Lane. They say Carter was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from his vehicle.
Carter was taken to Meritus Medical Center for non life-threatening injuries. Officials say residents at both homes were asleep at the time, and luckily no one was hurt.
"The residents were very lucky that it happened early in the morning before anyone was outside, or the kids playing in the yard, because it took out a play-set in the first one and landed in the pool in the deck of the second one" says Jason Eckstine, of the Longmeadow Fire Company.
Officials believe speed was a factor. They also say Carter was driving with a valid Pennsylvania license, but he's currently suspended to drive in Maryland.
Deputies say charges are forthcoming.
