Tractor Trailer Accident Snarls Traffic On I-81

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD - A tractor trailer crash shut down Interstate 81 for several hours Wednesday morning in Washington County.
The accident happened just before 3 a.m. on the northbound side near the Salem Avenue exit.
Police say the driver, John Kluka of Dover, Pennsylvania, had fallen asleep at the wheel when his truck traveled off the roadway and down over a bank.
He was taken to Meritus Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
Kluka was charged with negligent driving. Traffic was back to normal around 9:30 a.m.
