Sky's the Limit for these Women

FREDERICK, MD - Allison Brown is just one of hundreds in

been on a regular commercial flight, but this is my first independent flight. I

Pilots say they came to help
share their passion as part of the worldwide event, Women of Aviation Week.
"We flew up from Upstate,

Women say it's not just
about the flight, but learning about aviation.
"He told me a lot about the plane it was a
little above my head but he kept me well informed," says Brown.

through the air, how we manage energy through the use of the engine and control

The event helped

"We're here for two days for
the event and go back home and at least you know you made a difference in
someone else's lives." Says Mascoli.
Organizers say 35 pilots volunteered throughout the week. Guest speakers,
including a NASA Space scientist and an astronaut also attended Women Fly it
