HAGERSTOWN, MD - The Hard Times Cafe in Hagerstown hosted an MS Awareness event on Sunday to help raise money and find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.

Employees say the restaurant owner was diagnosed with MS about two years ago; now he's active in the community and raising awareness.

Hard Times Cafe donates a percentage of the checks from fund-raising customers to the MS cause. Employees say entire extended families were expected to arrive mid-day to contribute.

"MS really became an important part of the corporation about two years ago, when our owner was diagnosed with it. Ever since then he's been pretty active in the community: he went for the MS Walk a few months back, and he's just trying to be really active in the community," says Brandt Kuremfky, Hard Times Cafe shift supervisor.

Hard Times Cafe says they've raised over $4,000 for MS research with recent fund-raisers.
