Arrest Made in Glade Valley Sporting Goods Robbery

FREDERICK, MD- The Frederick Police Department arrested and charged a man on Thursday after they say he broke into a local store and stole a handgun. 

It happened January 27, at Glade Valley Sporting Goods in the 1700 block of North Market Street. 

Officers say on Wednesday Christopher Lee Stevens Jr., 22, of Keymar, Md., was pulled over in the area of Francis Scott Key Mall, where he was taken into custody. The stolen firearm was found inside the car on the passenger side. 

Officers say Stevens was officially charged on Thursday and is now being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. 

Stevens is charged with second-degree burglary with intent to steal a firearm, theft between $1,000 and $10,000 and attempted theft.
