HAGERSTOWN, MD- The new mayor of Hagerstown made his state of the city address on Tuesday to the community and spoke about his future goals.

Mayor David Gysberts has been in office for 100 days now.  He says his main objectives are bringing people and businesses together, while building more public and private partnerships, starting with opportunities like relocating the board of education downtown and the stadium project.

The mayor says he would like the Board of Education building to be closer to the government buildings and accessible to citizens.

Gyberts also wants more arts and entertainment venues in the city and certain water resources utilized. He hopes for more economic growth.

"I have established really good working relationships with all the council members and a lot of the folks in the business community," says Mayor Gyberts. "I think it's really important to build on those relationships as we move forward."

Washington County Board of Education President Dr. Justin Hartings says he was impressed by the City's presentation. He says the board is still deciding on which relocation project would be the most feasible and it's continuing to weigh the options. The City Proposal was not discussed in the school board meeting.
