Winter Storm Warning for Entire Four State Region

HAGERSTOWN, MD - A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the entire Four State region from 6pm Tuesday into Wednesday night.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning is now in effect for the entire area until midnight Wednesday.







Southern Pennsylvania, Hagerstown, and Frederick is expected to see 6"-12" of snow by Wednesday night with the higher amounts more likely.

The Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, Western Maryland, Potomac Highlands, and Shenandoah Valley can expect 10"-15"+ of snow.

The heaviest snow will occur between 5am and Noon Wednesday. The snow tapers off by midnight Wednesday.

The snow will be a heavy and wet which besides causing travel problems during this period, could also bring down power lines and tree limbs. The wind will pick up during the day on Wednesday from 15-25 mph with gusts at 30 mph.


Needless to say, this is going to be one of the largest storms this area has seen in a couple of years.
