Fire Officials Investigating Two-Alarm Fire in Hagerstown

It happened at
Officials say when first units arrived on the
scene they found heavy fire coming from the back of the building on the fourth
and fifth floors. Firefighters say they entered the building but found the blaze had
spread to the walls and void spaces.
Fire officials say crews then changed
their tactic to a defensive aerial attack from the outside of the
building.
The blaze causes significant damage to
the upper floors and roof. Emergency dispatchers say no one was injured in
the blaze.
Units from several city fire stations were
assisted on the scene by Funkstown Volunteer Fire Company, the Volunteer Fire
Company of Halfway, Maugansville Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company,
Firefighters are still
investigating the cause of the fire. The Hagerstown Fire Marshal's Office is
asking that anyone in the area who noticed activity around the building before
the fire to call (301)-790-2476 with information or email
