One Person Sent to Hospital in One Vehicle Accident in Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN, MD- Maryland State Police say one person was taken to the hospital Friday afternoon after a one vehicle accident in Hagerstown. 

It happened around 12:15 p.m. in the 15000 block of National Pike near the Huyettes area in Hagerstown. 

Troopers responded to the scene. They say one person was trapped inside their van, but officers were able to remove the person quickly. 

State police say a helicopter was originally called in to transport the victim, but then it was canceled. 

Police say the person was taken to Meritus Medical Center for treatment. The status of the victim looked to be serious but not life-threatening. 

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
