Local Humane Society Looking for Foster Homes for Animals

HAGERSTOWN, MD- The Humane Society of Washington County is looking for residents to provide foster homes for some of the animals at the shelter.

Workers at the human society say they are especially interested in finding foster homes for dogs that were neglected and need individual attention to help prepare them for adoption into permanent homes.

The HSWC says foster homes play an important role in the adoption process by providing a postitive environment and increase the animal-human bond that is essential to a well-adjusted pet.

HSWC says they will provide food and veterinary care for the foster animal. Any Washington County resident interested in becoming a foster parent should complete a foster care application that is available at the shelter or online by clicking here

The humane society is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The adoption floor opens at 10 a.m. To visit their website click here
