WHAG- Even though the weather tapered off on Monday, commuters were still extra careful on the roads.

Many residents had to wake up earlier than usual to shovel the snow from their driveways and scrape ice off of their windshields. The inclement weather affected the morning commute, but no major accidents were reported.

Locals say icy roads weren't too much of a problem and have come to accept it as part of the winter season.

"I think it is kind of crappy, but it is that time of the year for this kind of weather," says Natasha McCarty, a Washington County resident. "We have had a pretty mild winter so far, it's towards the end of January, so this is to be expected."
