Winter Storm Warning & Winter Weather Advisories Issued; Snow Expected Friday

By: WHAG Weather Team
Updated: January 24, 2013
HAGERSTOWN, MD - After the 1/2 inch of snow we had this morning that put many schools on 2 Hour Delays or even closed some schools, more snow is on the way for the end of the week.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Garrett County, MD from 12:00 PM Friday to 7:00 PM Saturday.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Somerset County, PA from 10:00 AM Friday to 1:00 AM Saturday.

Snow will develop across the area on Friday Morning and last through most areas into Friday Night, and will linger into Mountain Maryland on Saturday.

1 to 3 inches of snow is expected across most of the area with 3 to 6 inches in Mountain Maryland on Friday, then another 3 to 6 inches on Saturday in Mountain Maryland, will bring the grand total from anywhere from 6 to 12 inches of snow in Mountain Maryland through Saturday Night.

This will impact the Friday Evening commute home from work or school, and if Thursday Morning was any indication, then we are in for another slick travel time as we get into Friday Afternoon and Evening.

Stay with the WHAG Weather team with winter and severe weather hits the area, we'll keep you informed as these events roll though on their social media platforms as well as Your4State.com.
