Winchester Woman Charged with Filing a False Police Report

WINCHESTER, VA - A Winchester woman is charged with filing a false police report after she admitted to officers she lied about being assaulted in a local business.
Heather Marie Baker, 24, told officers on December 13, 2012 that she was assaulted by three black men in the bathroom of a business.
During a follow-up interview with a Winchester Detective, Baker admitted to making up the story.
Baker is charged with one count of filing a false police report, which is punishable as a class one misdemeanor.
Police say if convicted, Baker could face a penalty of up to one year in jail and/or a $2,500 fine.
