Joe Courange of Frederick says he and his wife spend their free time at Gunrunner's on East Patrick Street.

"Every Saturday after breakfast, we come up here. It used to be 10 to 15 people up here a morning, not it's a lot more," says Joe Courange.

"There's been a lot more people here, it's busier than normal," says Tommy Degrange of Frederick.

A sport, and a tradition that people say they appreciate. They say it's a family sport, and a necessity.

"My grandson is 6 years old, he loves to go shooting with me, he's been around here since he's about six months old," says Bob Wolfes, owner of Gunrunners.

"I was shooting guns since I was little, it's for protection, it's for sport, and for sometimes it's a necessity to eat in some parts of the county," says Courange.

Gun Appreciation day or not, the shop owner says it's just another day, and those days have been getting busier. This he says, because changes to the gun laws could happen on both the state and federal level.

"Ever since the election in November sales have increased, and since Sandy Hook, sales have literally doubled," says Wolfes.

Wolfes says some guns at some shops across the country are costing nearly 100% or more than they cost six months ago.

Many say they didn't realize there is a National Gun Appreciation day, but say they appreciate their second amendment rights, everyday.
