BUCKEYSTOWN, MD - Saint John's Catholic Prep High School of Frederick has moved to a new location in Buckeystown.
Officials say the previous location they occupied for the last 50 years was becoming too old and small to accommodate the growing student body.
The new location has over 60 acres of land to help accommodate sports programs, and the indoor space is more efficient for classroom settings.
"I think on an emotional level many people were sad to go, but I think on a rational level people understood that if we're gonna continue the mission and the work and further that of the school as a church school that we needed to, we needed to make the move," says President Gordon Oliver.

Over 150 volunteers showed up to help make the transition in just 10 days.
