CHARLESTON, WV - Democrat Earl Ray Tomblin was sworn in Monday as the 35th Governor.

The ceremony took place at the state capitol in Charleston.

The oath of office was administered by West Virginia Supreme Court Justice Brent Benjamin.

This is Tomblin's second inaguration. He was sworn into office in October 2011 after winning a special election to fill the un-expired term of Joe Manchin.

Manchin was elected to the U.S. Senate after the death of Senator Byrd.

"During my years in public service, I've worked hard to create a brighter future for West Virginia and I've approached every decision and every challenge and every opportunity with one goal and that is putting West Virginia first," says Tomblin.

Tomblin says he hopes to make more headway during this "full-term" in office.
