WHAG TV - Every Wednesday, WHAG and soldier fit honor a service member or veteran in our community. This week's Hometown Hero is Ned Renner.

Ned enlisted in the Army when he was 16 years old, and ended up serving in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.

He spent much of his military career as a Criminal Investigation Agent. He also served at West Point, and helped guard President Kennedy during a visit.

Ned was awarded the Army Commendation. After he retired from the military he was a criminal investigator with the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

Ned has been married to his wife Gloria for 62 years.

Don't forget, you can help honor our nation's heroes by clicking on "Community," and then "Hometown Hero," on our website.
