Franklin County is Employing More Local Residents

CHAMBERSBURG, PA - "We have jobs,": A simple statement on a Franklin County job website that employed a lot of local residents and small businesses since it went live one year ago.

The Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation expanded its Franklin County website to include an interactive job board.

With the click of a mouse job seekers can post their resume and search for local employment, while companies in the area can post openings.

Officials say employment is literally around the corner.

"It's a great resource. It's local, it's showing people what's available in their own backyard. I think not only is there a value to employers today, but I think there's a value to people who are looking for opportunities in the future and to students," says Noel Purdy, Vice President of the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation.

Franklin County says the job board has ranging employment options and small businesses, with 25 or fewer employees in Franklin County, can post positions at no cost.
