WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD - With the start of the new year, we celebrate Washington County's first new born of 2013.

Destiny Shantel Fairbank was born at 2:52 a.m. Tuesday morning at Meritus Medical Center. She weighed in a seven pounds and five ounces.

Mom and baby are both doing well. She says her new daughter looks just like her bid sister, and that she's proud to have the first baby of 2013 in Washington County.

"She's probably the best present I could ever wish for, having her on New Year's and being the lucky one in Washington County to have the first born," says mom Leanne Fairbank.

Hospital officials say the second baby of the year was born just ten minutes after Destiny.
