Valley Mall Restaurants Delay Openings

HAGERSTOWN, MD- Two restaurants that were supposed to open this month at the Valley Mall have hit some delays.

Cafe Rio Mexican Grill and Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery will now open in March, according to Julie Rohm, the mall's general manager.

"All sorts of things have caused little interruptions throughout the course of the construction time," Rohm said.  "We've had 20 days of rain from the beginning of summer until now."

They also had some old piping that needed replaced.

"Then, of course, just your general hiccups and design changes," Rohm said.

The restaurants are still projected to create about 120 jobs.

"They definitely need more stuff out here and I'm looking forward to it," says Richard Green, a shopper excited for the new restaurants.

"It'll boost the economy and it will give the mall more business," says Amanda Reeder, another shopper.

The two new restaurants are only a part of the Valley Mall project.

Officials say you can also expect various renovations through out the mall.
