CHAMBERSBURG, PA - Accused murderer Carl Varner pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Wednesday afternoon.

This comes right after Franklin County's District Attorney announced he will seek the death penalty in the case.

Varner is accused of killing Victor Campos-Olguin at his home on east King street in October.
Police say Varner and another man, Jason Shauf came into the home armed, demanding money and property.
The victim was found shot in the neck in his bathroom.

Varner plead not guilty to all 28 counts against him.
A pre-trail conference will held for the case in the next 30 days. Meanwhile Shauf will appear for a hearing on January 9th,  and it's after that the D.A. will decide if he might face the death penalty as an accomplice.

"He's fine," says defense attorney Michael Palermo of Varner. "He's in jail, he's not happy about it. He'll be in jail for Christmas, I don't think anybody's happy about that. But he's maintaining. That's all we can expect."
