It happened around 2:51 p.m. on Greenway Drive.
Police say they announced a lock-down of the schools, in the event that any armed person may approach school property in the course of their investigation.
Morgan County Sheriff's Office, West Virginia State Police, and the Town of Bath Police Department searched the surrounding area of the complaint and conducted a search of the high school grounds and gymnasium with a K-9 unit to ensure no one had entered any of the school buildings.
Police say students were able to board their buses and go home around 3:30 p.m.
Police say at this point in the investigation the threat may be uncreditable and unfounded. They say a thorough search of the area was conducted and an un-detailed description of the suspect was given. No one was located nor did any neighbors see any one at the scene of the complaint.
The Morgan County Sheriff's Office says they would like residents to err on the side of caution, and say student's safety is of the utmost importance in this type of event.
