A farewell party for Kim Dine was held at the Delaplaine Center Wednesday evening.
Dine served as the police chief in the city of Frederick for 10 years.
Dine says he will miss the Frederick Police Department and the city.
"Frederick and FPD will always be in my heart," says Dine. "Its just been a fabulous 10 years. I appreciate everything everyone's done for me and the FPD."
Dine also says he's proud to have served with the men and women of the Frederick Police Department. He will now serve as chief of the U.S. Capitol Police in Washington D.C.
