FREDERICK COUNTY, MD - A missing Frederick man has been found dead.

Maryland State Police say John Ryan's body was found Monday afternoon in the trunk of his car in Montgomery County.

Investigators say there appeared to be trauma to the body and are treating the investigation as a homicide.

Ryan's car was found by a United States Department of Homeland Security investigations agent in a parking lot used by numerous businesses in the 15,000-block of Somerville Drive in Derwood.

Marijuana and cash were also found in the trunk.

Ryan's wife reported him missing to Frederick Police on November 29th and several police outlets had been looking for him ever since.

Police say Ryan was a businessman who specialized in property maintenance and traveled frequently between Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia.

So far, no arrests have been made and police have yet to determine a motive.

Ryan's body has been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
