The cold morning became another reason to prepare for the holiday festivities.
"This morning we had our truck to unload all our trees, set the lot up and now we're in the process of setting our building up with the decorations, wreath hangers, wreaths and Christmas lights," says Duane Reed, scout master of Troop 159.
The boy scouts have been around for 27 years with a troop of 27 boys and this Christmas tree sale is one of their biggest fundraisers, something they have been doing for several years.
"We were actually approached 19 years ago if we would like to take this over. At that time, I wasn't here and it worked out the first year and we've been doing it ever since," adds Reed.
It has been their 19th year of selling trees and it has become a tradition for the parents of the boy scouts to help the sale from now until the last Saturday before Christmas.
One boy scout says this fundraiser can meet the needs of the organization.
"This helps raise money so we can go to camp, buy equipments and make it a little bit easier for us to go to different places," says Dakota Reed, senior patrol leader.
Dakota has been a part of the troop for four years and says not only has it been fun doing different activities, but it has taught him leadership skills that he will take with him later on in his life.
For now, he likes seeing people drive off with a little green gift on top of their car.
The boy scouts will be selling the trees until Dec.22 and prices range from $29 to $119.
